Don't waste your money on a new modem router!
Do you connect by wifi or with a cord? What kind of modem/router do you use? What lights are on the modem router? Have you also restarted your computer? Have you confirmed there are no issues with your ISP? What error occurs when you try accessing the internet? What kind if internet connection do you use (wireless, cable, adsl)?

Call your ISP. Their support is included in your monthly price.

Do not get me wrong but I guess that you should have called the customer service or the technical team of the internet service provider you got right after the moment you had encountered problems with your internet connection? Do they charge a fee for technical consultation? If not I do not see any reasons why you should hesitate in asking them. If they happen to charge for a price, I guess it would be better to pay for a small fee that to deal with the other problems that may come along as you face these technical problems with your internet connection alone. Check out this article (insert link here) to know more details about intent service providers and what you should be getting from them.
