What is the difference between Cost per Acquisition (CPA) and Cost per Lead (CPL)?

What is the difference between Cost per Acquisition (CPA) and Cost per Lead (CPL)?
I know CPC, CPM and Average CPC, but confused over above mentioned 2 terms. Can anyone elaborate a bit on this?

Cost Per Action/Acquisition (CPA) is when someone actually pays for something. Once the payment is complete, you will then get paid a commission.
Cost Per Lead (CPL) is when someone gives their contact information, like their name and email address, to be contacted for further information from the vendor. Again, you get paid your commission once they submit their details. Hope this helps! Ads |

CPA is cost per Acquisition, an acquisition is defined as an enquiry or sale as a result of you sales campaign. The cost per Acquisition would be the total cost of each lead when averaged out among all sales. Cost Per Lead,(CPL) is the same as CPA, just another name for it.
