What is a good way to improve my internet speed without getting a new provider?
Look at my speed test results...this is so bad it could probably become viral on the internet

so yeah anyway to improve it? like a new router or something? i cant change providers. shitty U - Verse is the only thing i can use

1 Check to see if faster internet connections are in your area. Fiber optic and cable internet tend to be faster than DSL and Dial-Up.

Low speeds on DSL are many times caused by a problem with the home's wiring. You can test this by plugging your modem directly in to the network interface device (NID), usually located on the outside of your house. If speeds improve, then the problem is on the inside. A new modem or router is not likely to improve things.

UVerse (DSL) service works best with a direct line from the NID to the modem. If the DSL signal travels to other unused jacks beyond where your modem is connected, the signal can be degraded significantly. If you have some basic wiring knowledge, you should be able to fix this yourself.

You can have a technician test the service at the NID and compare it to the service at the phone jack. A tech can resolve your problem whether it's an inside or outside issue. They can run a direct line to your modem to provide the best signal possible.
