Can someone explain why my internet is so slow?
http://www.speedtest.net/my-result/3344286936
I'm using a wired connection, I have nothing else running in the background (according to resource monitor). Here are some other stats from a line test (plz dont laugh): Packets lost: noneAverage latency: 667.863ms Jitter: 476ms Also, is there anything I can do about it? (other than call Optus and tell them to suck me off) Those dicks tell me i'm on ADSL. I'm happy to answer any other questions. Thanks. Ads |

I haven't seen speeds like those since the dialup days... Well, here's a checklist to see what the problem might be:
Are you sharing your connection with anybody else? If so, what are they using it for? Are you in an area where there may be a weak signal from your ISP (Internet Service Provider)? What plan did you purchase from your ISP? It might be that you've signed up for a slow connection. If nothing else, give the guys over at Optus a call and hopefully they'll be able to help resolve your problem. Ads |
