Do You have to pay monthly for netgears internet ?
I want to get netgear for my house but I'm not sure if I have to pay for the wi fi monthly or internet do I have to pay for the wi fi and internet for my computer monthly or not ? Please be specific !!

As far as I know Netgear makes equipment and does not supply "internet". Said equipment is purchased and not paid for monthly. You would need to contact a service provider, such as Time Warner, for the actual data connection.

As John said, Netgear doesn't provide internet service. It just provides gear that you can use to surf the net once you're already a subscriber to an internet service provider (such as Comcast or Time Warner). One of their more popular products is wireless routers. You may not need one since many providers offer modems that are (supposed to be) capable of wifi.

I say "supposed to be" because I've heard several people say that the one they got from the ISP didn't work (it happened to me). You can either call them up and have them replace it (and hope the replacement works) or buy one yourself.
