Why aren't Toys R Us clearance items actually discounted?
I went to Toys R Us today and they were advertising their Clearance items. While there were two small end stands with items that looked beat up and had mark down stickers, most of the clearance items were in their usual spots with a clearance tag under the normal price on the shelf, not marked down. For instance, a Star Wars play set for the regular price of $149.99 with a clearance tag under it, no mark down. They used to have great clearance deals but the past few years it's been like this. Why? Why even bother with the clearance tags? Why not just say "discontinued"? When I hear "clearance", I expect to save 50% or more.

Because their trying to trick us into buying things without noticing the price tag it's a sad,sad economy and also everything has gotten way more expensive it seems like you go to the grocery store with like seven times and you're almost paying $100.00 it's so ridiculous.

There is no legal definition of the word clearance. It just means that the item is being cleared from the shelves.
If you wrongly assume that means it will reduced in price by 50% that is your fault. |
