internet explorer wont open on windows 7?

so my mom (accidentally) downloaded this weird security thing last night and this morning it said we had about 200 something bugs to fix and we couldnt open our internet (explorer) and we can't download any oter kind of internet b/c we cant *acess* the internet and my moms really frustrated. i uninstalled the weird security thing and restored our original security, and it says we have no bugs. i am currently in the process of restoring internet explorer (control center-> internet -> advanced settings ->restore), but what if it doesn't work? can anyone help? thanks so much!

Check to see if you have a Restore Points from before the time when the download was installed. If so, use one of those restore points to revert your computer to before the install was done. Note that a restore point does NOT wipe your data or other programs. It just restore a handful of the key files for Widnows itself.

Usually that will disable whatever is triggering the malware you downloaded. Then you can boot the computer in Sage Mode and run a full virus scan to remove the actual files of the malware.

un-install the software you have downloaded and used for security reason. Restore your computer. You can also download some better browser like Mozilla firfox and google chrome.
