Why do people do this on the net?
I myself have been the victim of a cyber stalker on the internet.

more too the point why do people splash around personal infrormation about themselves like where they live and there activities on the internet on sites such as twitter or others so anyone could view it? Don't you think thats really risky? I think people should only allow there friends/families too view this kinda info about themselves and not strangers surfing the web. i think twitter is probably the worst though.

do u agree?
don't u people who splash around info about themselves realise that anyone could be monitoring them?

I agree with you, although not many will do, because a lot of people are using these websites as if they are their toys and they are trying to look cool. I myself saw a person's full name on twitter and think that they are putting themselves at risk of being in danger. Also, if you have been the victim of a cyber stalker, why not do something about it(talk to the stalker and reason with them).

It's called complacency.

They think nothing will ever happen to them.

Which just goes to show how too stupid they are!

Some people should never be let loose on the internet
especially where personal information is concerned.

Then they wonder why they and their families get problems!

Yea, I've given Some of My Info To Facebook But Facebook Offers "more than enough" privacy settings to hide all that . And I never give my location information to Facebook.
And As For Twitter The Site was Created For Celebrities and I have an account just to follow them - Yea I agree with your posting information on Sites Like Twitter COuld be risky as All Information is public - But In twitter it is not COMPULSORY for you to use a real name and so you could use a fake name

POSTING PERSONAL INFORMATION IS ALWAYS 100% RISKY AND I HOPE PEOPLE UNDERSTAND THAT. It's not the fault of those sites . It's The Fault of the People

Basically, people aren't thinking. Social networks are still relatively new and people are getting carried away with the excitement of this new method of communicating with their friends that they don't think about the consequences.
