Do guys like chubbier girls?
All through my teens I have skipped meals when possible or substituted food with water to be as thin as my friends. Although I ate less I still looked bigger because of the fact my thighs we bigger and I have a fuller bust. Now I'm 18 and in my second year of sixth form, I've been with my boyfriend for eight months and went on the pill in November. Over Christmas my weight ballooned as I stopped restricting was I ate. In horror I began frantically excersizing to loose weight, I particularly did muscular excersizing to build up muscle as it burns fat but obviously it just made my legs and arms look thicker. However, I discovered I love excersizing and it makes me feel so good so I take up every opportunity for sport at school ,go to the gym three times a week and I attend dance classes. Before I only danced and did very little excersize. I realised I loved food and havnt stopped eating more.
People began complimenting me, saying my skin looked good, my hair looked shinier etc... At first I thought they we just saying that because they felt awkward about my two stone weight gain (it wasn't so much at the start but I've really build up some muscle under my fat!) but when I've gone out with my girlfriends I have received so much male attention that I wasn't getting before.
I look kind of chubby and I have a pooch in my stomache of an inch or two, a little muffin top but I'm so healthy. At first I hated the fact I now to have wear medium while all my friends are in extra small but my skin and hair DOES look better now I'm eating properly. What do I do? Should I remain this weight or go back to how I was before... I'm confused at to why I'm getting so much more attention fatter. My parents feel terrible as they didn't realise that until now I was starving myself (I ate at home, but they don't know if I eat at school and they're never there in the mornings so they thought I was naturally thin when in fact I am not, my metabolism was always fairly slow and i ate little more than one meal a day to stay slim)so I feel so guilty for making them feel this way when they are brilliant parents and it wasn't their fault.
Also , my boyfriend hasn't even mentioned it as he knew I was touchy about my weight but he seems to like feeling me more during fore play. He hadn't really been one to touch my boobs or arse but he can't seem to stop anymore so I'm guessing it's not a bad thing...? Or do you think he hasn't mentioned it because he doesn't like it? Help please!!
(btw I'm 5ft 8" and I weigh a little less than 11 a half stone

All you needed to say was the question "do guys like chubbier girls?" The rest was irrelevant.

Some do. Most don't.

Who cares what "boys like", as a female i think it's more important to please your own standards than a boy that lacks the quality to appreciate a girl's given beauty. Your job on this earth isn't to please a boy, rather focus on being comfortable in your own skin. Dress in whatever way that pleases your preference and try to be the best you for your own sake. Learn to love yourself and be comfortable, a guy is going to appreciate and admire your confidence, and that's when you know he's the right one..

Hmmm, a complicated issue. First off as for the answer saying "it's not about pleasing boys/men" that is really hard to swallow when your dealing with body/weight issues. Most of my female friends find me very empowered and confident yet I've definitely been deep in the grasps of body/food issues. I finally tried to stop "controlling" my food intake now that I'm in a relationship with a guy that's really helped me deal with some of my hidden body/sexual insecurities. Now I feel like a have a clearer perception of how distorted my idea of my body was. It is true that as people pointed out some guys like this or that, BUT everyone, of any social group is attracted to confidence. which is difficult to have when your dealing with body issues. The extra attention your getting might also be because exercising has made you more comfortable in your body and healthier and other people pick up on that, also you might not have been aware of it but you probably exuded insecurity when you were obsessing over your food intake. Don't let your diet/excercise habits get out of control because based on the addictive thinking you had while controlling your food in the past, your likely pretty sensitive to overdoing things. Try to be more present and mindful and create a healthy balance, and people WILL pick up on it. It's nice to think we can get to a point to not care what other people think, but as a someone who considers themselves a strong woman, we have to admit that's difficult. Experiment with letting off more confidence then your used to letting yourself put off and realize that is what attracts people! good luck.
