How to get your business local ranking up on google?
Hry people, I was just wondering how do I go about raising my businesses profile on google, how does it work? How do I improve its popularity? Other businesses from other areas are showing up instead of mine, not cool Sad

Besides claiming and enhancing the directory listings such as Google Places, Map quest, Yahoo local, you may want to consider creating a promotion which encourages happy customers to post a positive review on Yelp. Yelp seems to be having more of an impact lately, especially when those searching are doing so on their smart phones.

Also, creating a video and coming up with a title, description and keywords to add to the categories offers a huge advantage since not many business embrace video marketing. Youtube is the platform I'd suggest you publish on after creating a channel if you don't yet have one for your business.

Finally, updating your website on a regular basis, especially with news, updates or announcements that impact customers, it adds to your credibility from Google's perspective. If your business is ever mentioned in the newspaper, make sure you showcase that article online with a hyperlink to the publication, again, adding credibility.
