my fibre optic talktalk router not connecting to internet?

i upgraded to fibre optic yesterday on talk talk an engineer came and set it up. It was working fine until today which it does not connect at all just shows a red light on internet. i tried resetting the router and tried restarting the modem but did not work. I called talktalk and they send they will send an engineer but will take 2 weeks

i need help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well that`s a bit of a horror story, two weeks for an engineer to come and fix it.
They do however have a web site where they can automatically test for faults on your line;

Any red, amber or flashing LED is bad news, they should be fixed green or blue.
Is your telephone line working?
If not that is probably the problem and needs to be reported as a fault to your `phone company which when fixed will probably mend your broadband as well.
If it is then it an internet connection problem.
