I'm a sophomore so I know how you feel Smile honestly; it's not even bad, it's not much different from middle school. A lot of movies and shows make it seem like the seniors are out to get you or something but they're not. If you can, see if you can look around your school so you know where your classes are before the first day. If you can't; and you don't know your way around, there will be a lot of nice people willing to help you. Smile high school is really great. Join some clubs and have fun!

First thing's first. Everyone's nervous. Everyone. Even if they tell you they aren't.

Second, don't try too hard. It's exhausting and pointless. And if anyone is being fake they will be outed pretty quickly in the school year. Seeing what I saw in high school. You can come back from a lot,but fake is pretty hard to come back from.

Third. Enjoy it. High school, though you are just starting now. It's over in a flash. It really is.

Hello! Congrats on going to freshman year ^^
It's the time where a lot of drama might start to happen.
You better be careful. Find good and trustworthy friends. Don't fit in the cool group.
Since your going to highschool you will go to college after so I would study as hard as i could and only focus on work.
Try to set goals like only use internet for 30 minutes free time a day unless for homework.
Make sure to bring your best smiles.
Remember this is freshman so your not alone going to highschool for the first time. There are lots of other students in the same stage as you. Don't lie because it will come for revenge later. Just be friendly to some people who look lonely when you get to school. Good luck

Go ahead and forget all the stereotypes from movies and such. Most of them are BS. Don't try too hard to be cool, but don't try not to be cool. Just be yourself, unless yourself is annoying, then keep your mouth shut.

Stop using ` as an apostrophe and you'll be just fine.

So many of you new high schoolers asking for advise on here. It's cool because I like to give advise. First of all, high school and middle shool will be incredibly different, in most ways, a good different. I've divided my advise up into sections because I'm not sure exactly what you'll need.

First day
- dont be afraid to ask questions. There's a good chance you'll get lost.
- the first day will just be teachers talking about their personal lives and they'll probably make you play one of those silly "get to know eachother games"
- dont worry too much, everyone's too busy freaking out being nervous to notice how freaked out and nervous you are.
- before the first day, see how long it takes you to get ready in the morning, so you'll know when to get up for school.

Classes/studying
- even if you think you don't need to study, just do it anyways. 20 minute study sessions with a 5 minute break always works well for me.
- if you have trouble focusing, here's my stupid trick I use that works 99.9 percent of the time. It's pretty lame, but it works for me. I draw a circle on my hand in sharpie, whenever I feel myself losing focus touch the circle and I pretend its like a power up button to get me to focus. Pretty freaking lame. But it works.
- check your grades regularly. Ask your teachers what you can do to improve your grades. Even if they come off as pricks, they really want to help you.
- do your homework. Seriously. It's work more than you think it is. Plus it helps you study if you actually do if. If you're too lazy for that at least write something so you get the points.
- if you're grads are suffering, seriously, stay in and work on your academics instead of going out with friends. Missing one night with your friends is better than struggling to keep up in school.

Bullies
- yeah, upperclassmen might tease you, but they won't shove you in a locker or anything crazy like in the movies. They just think it's funny to make fun of freshmen. Don't take it personally. Laugh it off, play it cool, you might make a friend.
- if anyone bullies you, there's seriously nothing better you can do than to laugh it off. It's no fun to make fun of someone when they think its funny themselves.

Friends
- dont be friends with jerks. Be friends with people you actually like.
- dont do anything just to fit in. Seriously. Stay true to yourself, what's right isn't usually popular.
- and uh, you know, don't smoke tobacco or shoot heroin. This is half a joke and half serious advise.

Romance
- dont force anything. No matter how lonely you are, or whatever, you shouldn't go out with someone just to go out with them. Seriously, wait unil you meet someone really really great. It'll be worth it.

Here's my advice.
I am going to be a sophmore. So I'm not too far ahead of you.
-Be yourself. If you don't eventually somebody will find out and spread the news like wildfire
-Though fights seem exciting, high school is a battle ground. If you see a fight don't stop and watch move along and get to class. If someone has a chance to blame something on you they will. Our school had a gang fight and sent 8 people to Juvy- be careful, alright?
-No matter what your upper classmen say, there is no 'freshman friday', where seniors and juniors prank you. It just doesn't happen. Though my brothers friend came up to me, picked me up and almost put me in a trash can. lol
- Since you're a girl, you can carry a purse. In that purse, keep your pencils, pens, girl stuff, a small snack, bottle of water, and a few one dollar bills and quarters if your school has vending machines or little events you want to participate in.
The snacks will come in handy, trust me. so will the water. And as for the pencils and pens, well come on. It's just easier then carrying a whole pencil pouch separate. When I did that my first semester of high school it got stolen.
- Organization is the key
Organization doesn't mean a binder for each class. It gets big and piles up and gets tough to carry. If the class doesn't require it's own binder, share it with another class.

Things I found helpful
- Purse
- 5 subject notebooks
- Backpack big enough to hold a sweater
- bringing two bottles of water to school
- Carry deo. and spray if you have gym class.

And for shits and giggles, there's a hashtag trend on twitter called #FreshmanAdvice, here are some that are obviously sarcastic, but will help me give you more tips

#FreshmanAdvice get pregnant
- relationships are a waste of time unless you truely think you can handle it
#FreshmanAdvice Don't have your face in the nudes you send
- Don't send nudes at all. Fly low on the drama meter

and that's about it.. good luck!

I'm going to be a sophomore when school starts so here's what I have:
-You're a freshman, people will call you that and say stupid stuff about you being a freshman, ignore that
-don't try too hard
-don't be stupid (drink, do drugs, smoke weed, have sex, etc) Not worth it
-Do your homework/school work
-don't talk to/interact with people you don't like (I did this and it is a lot easier to deal with annoying people
-be friends with people like you/have the same interests (don't hang with the wrong crowd)
-Be yourself
That's all I have, oh and try to have fun, even though it seems like you shouldn't be having fun, try to enjoy it the best you can and make the best of it and good luck
