Are google + profile backlinks effective?
Just wanted to know. I want to make a google + profile and put my backlinks in it.

Also will google crawl it?

Hi John, I wouldn't say they are very effective because building backlinks to a website really doesn't create very many sales anyway. (if thats your goal). It's short term. There's better ways to get direct traffic that converts.Most of those people searching keywords are not searching for solutions and would just clog up your inbox anyway. If your site is at the top of the search engines it's good but not very effective because it's not considered direct traffic that converts. What I would rather do is create more blogs like Google Plus, Hubpages, even here at Yahoo and send as many links to your profile on those pages (even if you have little content) so that you can take over the first page of the search engines for your name. It presents you as an expert on the search engines and very effective....I need to find time to work on that more myself.

It depends on what your goal is. If you are building backlinks for sales, then doing so in your profile is not effective. Google will crawl the backlink, it is something owned by Google. A better way is to write an blog topic, and post it to Google + with a backlink. This way it is on topic and people will follow.
