Why are websites always down for me?
For some reason, certain websites ALWAYS crash on me. On a regular basis, about 40-50% of the time I use it, facebook will randomly stop working and when refreshed, display the blank white page that says something like, "Invalid URL - The URL "----" is invalid" ect. Eventually, it will come back on, but most likely do the same thing a few minutes later. This has begun to happen with tumblr as well. I have a gateway laptop with google chrome. This would have nothing to do with a virus, I have antivirus, I recently restored my laptop (within the last 3 months) and this same problem also occurs on my pc, in both chrome and internet explorer. Why does this happen? Is there anything I can do about it? Please help!
*EDIT*
I've used websites similar to the one DJ posted, and it's always only me. I've never used Firefox or Opera, but even using different browsers such as internet explorer (regular or 64-bit) nothing changes.
I also clear the cache an delete history regularly.

*EDIT*: Try turning off your modem / router for ten minutes to reset. Turn back on and try again.

You can try these links for facebook and tumblr:

http://downrightnow.com/facebook

http://downrightnow.com/tumblr

You can check if it's just you or everyone. Here's a help link: http://downforme.org/

You could also see if your DNS settings have been compromised: http://www.dcwg.org/
Best wishes, DJ
