Why is facebook so boring?
Have you watches "Social Network" film? Its film about facebook. Even Mark said why is it used for. It is not to keep up with your Friends that is more of marketing strategy. Its like internet big brother. It is about knowing what other people do. Especially its about checking people that you are interested in. I MEAN HE OPENED IT BECAUSE OF THAT IN THE FIRST PLACE Wink.

How do you feel about facebook and those questions under:

Is it true that people do look at how many friends you have, it shows are you cool or not?

What do you think about people who update their statuses everyday or few times per day? Is it important to let know your Friends on facebook that you had Coffee at starbucks!?!?

Who have more funnier and sexyer photos they are cooler? Automaticly added people will look at your photos If you have nice and pretty (few not many) photos people will not be interested I AM TALKING THEY WILL THINK YOU ARE NOT INTERESTING AS A PERSON. However if you have sexy slutty or funny and a bit ugly weird photos or if you have around 600 photos from every holyday you been to they will think automatically that you are interesting person? JUDGEING PERSONALITY BY THE PHOTOS THAT ARE SHOWN BY INTERNET HMM!?!?

What are your opinions on all this?

NO RUDE COMMENTS ONLY PEOPLE WHO ARE OPEN FOR DISSCUSION.
AS MANY OF YOU SAID IT IS ABOUT REUNITING OF OLD FRIENDS. SO WHY SO MANY PHOTOS AND WHY "I JUST PEED I JUST BRISHED MY TEETH" STATUSES THEN!?!?!?

It was made for people to keep in touch with their friends at university. Once you get out of HS you will know what it is like when your friends leave and you rarely see or hear from them.

It blew up to something bigger because it was the new "Myspace".

Now it's a marketing scheme where people will use it to their advantage because they can since Facebook is so popular.

People are always going to add pictures of themselves in any way they want, they did that on Myspace too.

I think you may have to re-watch the movie and understand what Facebook was intended for.

Such a slanted question. It's obvious you hate Facebook. However, I'll try to add my opinion anyways.

Facebook is really whatever a person and their facebook friends make of it. It can be about keeping in touch with friends and family far away. It can be about playing games like Farmville (and helping friends with their farms). It can be about telling people what you did today, like go to a concert, go to a family reunion, or maybe went out on a date. It can be about sharing funny pictures with friends, or pictures of their daughter in their wedding dress.

People like to share their experiences and life with others. Facebook allows people to do that very well, especially with those friends who you don't see very often.

Facebook has the potential to be a great social networking site, however, I feel like it never lives up to that potential. I recently became so frustrated with Facebook that I deactivated my account. I don't mind when friends post pictures or post something mildly (or very) important happens in their life. However, Facebook is getting away from that more every week (at least for my Facebook friends). More and more are people blindly following stupid trends like, Change your profile pic to a cartoon character to support child abuse (How the hell will that help with child abuse?!) or the more recent 'numbers' game where someone sends a private message to someone with a random number and then the person posts a status with that number saying how they feel about the person. I also think Facebook apps like Farmville, Mafia Wars, etc are wastes of time.

Facebook should be about staying connected with friends and family. It's becoming more about just finding stupid things for people to waste their time on.

(I didn't really feel like touching on the marketing aspect. Marketing doesn't affect most people who use Facebook as most people just ignore the ads.)

EDIT - Regarding statuses like "I JUST PEED".... I never see anything like that. Once in a while a friend will post that their crazy drunk, but generally status messages carry some message instead of just stating a random every day activities. If you see these all the time, it's just a reflection of your friends more than Facebook.
