how do I completly uninstall conduit?
I uninstalled conduit via uninstall programs, every time I turn my computer on I get this message:

There was a problem starting
C:\Users\Daniel\AppData/Local\Conduit\Background\BackgroundContainer.dll

The specified module could not be found

Any ideas how to fix this?

Its a kind of torjan virus... better u install "Yac" software it will remove all torjan that an antivirus cant!! I am using it

Try Advanced Uninstaller pro 11(freeware),always succes for me.

Run Advanced Uninstaller pro 11 ,
1.Open General Tools,find conduit on Uninstall Program,Startup Manager and Services Manager then terminate conduit.
2.Open Internet Browser Tools,find conduit on every Browsers then terminate conduit.
3.Open the Browsers,remove conduit and set a default search engine.

Use Revo uninstaller free, and then run a scan with malwarebytes. That should do it

There are 3 steps for you to fully uninstall conduit from your computer.
I was in trouble with uninstalling conduit. Every time I tried to delete it with Windows uninstaller in Control Panel. The error messages told me that The specified module could not be found. I was not allow to uninstall conduit toolbar be manual. That means I had to search and find another removal way to get rid of it. And now the most available conduit removal guide is below:
1.Disable conduit and all its related processes.
2.Download and use conduit uninstall tool like Perfect Uninstaller
3. Find and locate conduit in the program list of uninstaller and click "Uninstall" button to remove the program.

Finally, you will find you have successfully uninstall conduit from your computer.

Conduit is a malware or ad-ware program which installed accidentally by you in your computer.

this will occur while you try wrong steps to remove it manually ..

1.] Download a ad-ware removal tool from below given link : - http://www.filesonclick.com/adwcleaner/

2.] Download auto-runs and save it to your Desktop.

3.] Open the folder and double-click on autoruns.exe to launch it.and Vista/Windows 7/8 users right-click and select Run As Administrator.

4.] Once finished scanning, it will say Ready at the at the bottom and list all entries under the Everything tab.
In the top menu, click File > Find... and type the file name (backgroundcontainer.dll) related to the error message, then click Find Next.
5.] Alternatively, you can scroll through the list and look for any entry related to backgroundcontainer.dll and conduit.
If found, right-click on the entry and choose delete. Exit Autoruns and reboot your computer when done.

6.] go to control panel > Administrative Tools > Open Task Scheduler and click on Task Scheduler Library.

7.] Look for list for an entry related to BackgroundContainer. right click on it and delete it.
