Blogging Regularly to Increase Visitors and Followers?
As I understand it, the more a blogger blogs, the more readers he or she will have. Is that correct? And does that apply to blogs done through any site, for example, blogspot.com or one you actually have to pay for? Also, how does this work exactly? Do you end up getting more traffic because your Google Search Optimization increases with the amount of words on the blog?

Thanks.

Keep in mind, there are millions and millions of other bloggers out there. Your chances of gaining an audience are incredibly slim. you better come up with the most fascinating, extreme, and dynamic blog to attract anyone over to read it.

look up what other blogs all ready exist, and if there are thousands about whatever subject you were going to write about, you should consider not wasting your time, and either coming up with a more original topic, or moving on to a new hobby.

the ones that would get the best chances of being well read are those which specialize in certain activities. something wher eyou could show alot of pictures and video, like extreme sports, or mountain climbing, something that by its very nature is exiting, before you even write about it.,

otherwise, you better be the best chef ever if you are writing about food, or the best political speaker if you are writing about current affairs and topics, and you better have the most interesting cutting edge ideas about typically humdrum topics like parenting, if you are going to attract any following. otherwise, be prepared to never have readership, and do it because you just enjoy doing it.

I mean, why should anyone care about what you have to say? you have to give them something to care about.

Google gives some ranking points to a blog that has regular updates, this may just be once or more a week rather than 5 times a year, they like to see currenr active blogs, pages can lose some ranking as they age. For the most part individual page are raked on their own, so doing a bunch of short, way under 450 word posts can be harmful. There may be a bit of overall site rank effect from quality posts, some say "a rising tide lifts all ships".
For the most part, a larger number of posts gives the opportunity to target more different keywords, you should have a target list of perhaps 50 or more phrases that you could feature in a post's meta title header and body text, where it naturally fits, search engines are more on the lookout for SEO spam, so always write enjoyable material for your readers as well. Some sites get the most search traffic from link tail keywords that might come up only once, a diversity of content improves the chances of getting these low volume searches.
She same general SEO technique should apply to any blog platform.

Here's a Search Engine Optimization guide by an SEO authority, too much of the stuff taught by others is out of date or simply inaccurate.

Followers are those that choose to follow you. If you have great content then building a huge followers list will be no problem.

The reason for Search Engine Rankings using blogs is targeted keywords in your body. Submit your blog or articles to sites with a high ranking. theses couple with target low competitive keywords will rank you well in the search engines.

Blogging can be one way of getting traffic but not that effective if you have a target. Commenter from different places can also visit and comment on a certain blog which is not an ideal if you want a traffic from a specific area. And since blog commenting is open to all, the blog can turn into a link farm site and there is a possibility that it will be penalized by Google. If this happens, your site with links on that blog will also be penalized.
