Is there something wrong with my laptop?
This is(I think?) related to the previous question I asked about spilling water on my laptop...

Yea I spilt water and immediately shut down the laptop, look out the battery and mouse USB and tilted it to the side so most of the water came out and put it upside down on the radiator... Then like 5 days later I turned it on and it was working fine, I turned it off after catching up on things and playing mmo's but when my mom went on it was a black screen she told be to help her so I force shut down it and turned it back on and the black screen was on again and I clicked with the mouse and it was working fine (I run windows 8)
It wasn't directly on the radiator, it was upside down about 50cm above it

Putting the laptop on the radiator my have been a bad idea, the heat may have damaged some of the components.

I would get that checked out by a professional. Go to your local electronic store and ask to see someone. I'm not an expert but maybe there's still a bit of water inside your laptop or the water has damaged something inside causing it to behave like this? It's best to get it checked out to be safe.

Mary,
Water damage is always something to worry about when it comes to laptops or any electronic device for that matter. You're very lucky that the machine has continued to boot after being placed on a radiator after the liquid damage. I would recommend getting the machine tested for defective parts and back up as much important data as possible. Liquid damage and possible heat damage might cause future issues or complete failure of the laptop.

Depending on the temperature of the radiator heat, that may have caused damage to some component(s) inside the laptop. You really did everything correctly when the accident happened, but you want room temperature air gently circulating around the computer for several days. probably the best thing to do at this point to prevent frustration, is to take the laptop to a local computer repair shop and allow them to run some tests on it to see what may have happened. It could still be a residual effect from the moisture that got inside. They can check it out pretty quickly t prevent further damage from "forced" shutdowns. They have an adverse affect on the Windows Registry which can lead to the operating system needing reinstalled.

Coincidentally, you may have hit a system update and Windows was configuring the updates. It is common with W8 & 8.1 to have a black screen for up to 2 minutes during system configuration.
Switch on your computer and allow to boot, be patient.

the problem may be that it hasnt dried properly and there is still access water therefore if you have enough rice put your laptop (prefereably in seperate pieces eg batteri) in a box/bowl of rice and keep it for 1-2 days it should help ,if not you may need a new one
