An incident happened on my chromebook today... I was doing school work when my friend played a joke on me and started pr
buttons on my laptop. Now, everything I do on my chromebook is announced audibly on it. Every letter I type in it announces that letter out loud. When I enter a web address it literally says the whole thing out loud. EVERY SINGLE THING is announces out loud. How do I turn it off. Please it's getting so annoying. Thanks!

Hello.
It sounds like a feature on Chromebooks called "ChromeVox" may have been turned on on your Chromebook. This should be a fairly easy fix. Down in the lower right hand corner, you'll see the time, wifi signal, and battery. Click on the time. It should popup with a window/menu that has some options on it. You need to locate and click on Settings. It should also have a wrench in front of it. Once there, it'll open up a Chrome webpage where we can change any settings needed. Scroll to the bottom of the page and see if you have "Show Advanced Settings." If you do, click on it. If not, then just keep scrolling until you hit the bottom of the page. Near the bottom, we need to locate the header that's titled "Accessibility." Under Accessibility, locate the check box that says "Enable ChromeVox (spoken feedback)". Hopefully, it's going to be check marked. If it is, uncheck it. From there, the voice should go away and you should be able to use your Chromebook as you did before it was turned on. If the box isn't checked, we might have to look and see where else an option like that is enabled. I'll check on the thread to see if you need any additional help. Hope that helps you out! Alternately, you can hold down the CTRL and ALT keys, and press the Z key.
