I really need Ebay help?!?

Have an excercise bike that is 5 years old, 6 year old son lost the adapter/ cable for it. Can I buy the adapter of ebay and would it work if it wasn't the excercise bikes brand?

The adapter is a 6VDC, 500MA

And I called the company but as the bike is 5 years old they wouldn't help

I don't think Ebay is the best bet, Amazon.com is more likely to have something, there are all kinds of plugs and 2 polarity possibilities, eyeballing a multi connector universal power adapter in a store might be best.
