Should I cut this boy off who basically played me?

Well me and this boy was talking heavy for 2weeks(he go to neighboring school) and originally I thought we were perfect for each other. Well I did some lurking on social media & saw he was now dating someone else THE SAME DAY he turned me down for excuse(we did have same Ex who hes NOW not friends with). Me & the dude talked about it days later but he was saying how he recently met him( BS lie, it was 3months they knew each other from what I saw) and the question popped up spontaneously supposedly. But thing is I was somewhat cool w/ other boy but hes cut off now.. I don't know if I should cut off the dude I was about to date.

The only reason I wanna stay cool is b/c he then begged for friendship, kept saying hes sorry for putting me threw that & he was wrong.. But Idon't even know.. I just feel hes strong liar & feel like cutting him off will make me relieved.

Whats you guys input on this? Should I cut him off now with no warning??? Details please! We are 17...
