By far the most popular way to build websites/blogs today is the free WordPress CMS (Content Management System). It is easier, much more popular and better at SEO (Search Engine Optimization) that the other popular CMSs, Drupal and Joomla.

Drupal and Joomla may be better for certain limited kinds of sites, like web directories.

The advantages of building WordPress sites over traditional static sites (e.g. built with Adobe Dreamweaver), when properly done, are many. The disadvantages are few.

Advantages:
* Build in 1/2 the time for 1/2 the money - even free, if your time has no monetary value.
* Look good instantly by the use of the best "WordPress Themes".
* Take advantage of free "WordPress Plugins" for advanced functions and for SEO.
* Allow authors with little or no technical savvy to publish or edit content.
* Take advantage of visitor interactivity with limited memberships or visitor comments.
* Use WordPress to build static pages - it doesn't have to be used as a blog.
* WordPress sites all look and behave in similar ways, so visitors come equipped by prior experience to deal effectively with them. They know what to expect.
* Use Visual Marketing to boost visits and sales (see my free info)
* Improve Online Marketing with excellent commercial WordPress frameworks and themes
* ..and more..

Disadvantages:
* WordPress is pre-built, as are the themes, so your creative flexibility is somewhat limited.
* Having amateurs produce and publish content on a WordPress site is not nearly as easy (without some good training) as people say. Nor will it look perfect without some CSS (Cascading Style Sheets) fine tuning of the content by an expert.

Hope this helps...

You've definitely got to look into Site Spinner (link below). It's extremely easy to use, just drag & drop in pictures, put the text where they tell you to and publish a great website in no time.

The big convincer for me was read the reviews that are nearly all positive and compare with other options that get a lot of negative reviews due to being overwhelming, don't work, etc.

I love Site Spinner!

Weebly, Jimdo and Wix are all excellent website builders that I've used before.

They're legitimate website builders that have been in the market for a long time and millions of people have used them.

Here is a good source of review about the pros and cons for each one of them:

Good luck!
