Facebook messages stuck on sent?

Ok this is really getting me angry. I've been trying to message this girl that I really like. But the message never goes through, it gets stuck on the arrow thing (on the messenger app) and stuck on sent (on the Facebook app). I just want to tell her how I feel about her, but I can't! Someone please help.
