why do I get, 'internet explorer has stopped working'?
Every time I go into a new website page this message comes up-along with the options of 'check online for a solution and close the program' or just 'close the program'. How could I be getting this message if I'm already online and the internet connection is fine? Thanks in advance.

Go to Control Panel>Internet Options>Advanced tab and hit the reset to restore IE to its default settings. Then close and reopen the browser.

If Internet Explorer crashes, stops
working, or closes immediately after being opened, you might get an error message telling you that Internet Explorer isn't working, or that it encountered a problem and needs to close. In most cases, you'll be able to restore the browsing session you had open when Internet Explorer closed. If you can't open Internet Explorer or if it opens briefly and then closes, the problem might be caused by low memory, or damaged or missing system files. Restart your PC to clear the memory and then open Internet Explorer by itself. Here are a few things to try if Internet Explorer is still having problems after restarting: Get the latest browser Make sure you have the latest version of Internet Explorer for your operating system. Find out if there's a newer version of Internet Explorer available to you. Install the latest updates Run Windows Update to correct problems by replacing out-of-date files, updating drivers, and fixing vulnerabilities Hope this help....... |

I don't mean to sound like a policeman or anything but you really need to start using something better. Internet Explorer is one of the worst internet browsers of its time. I suggest you use these any of these internet browsers:
Google Chrome Mozilla Firefox Safari Opera But If you really do need to fix internet explorer you should try some of these options: Hold the Start button and the R key to open "Run" type in taskmgr and press enter. On the processes tab, close anything IE related. Update IE to the latest version. Open control panel and click on programs and features. You can either re-install IE, or uninstall anything that you have recently installed that affects IE in anyway. I hope this question helps. |
