Why most dating sites have more men than women ?

I dont understand this. Dont women wanna dates too ? then why arent they putting themselves out there and search ?

Women do use dating sites, but they are more likely to use ones where their information is less easily available to everyone, and they can pre-scan possible dates before revealing personal details. This is because women feel more at risk through dating sites, ( date rape worries etc scares women of course),especially if they have children, and also they are statistically more likely than men to want a long term relationship and therefore tend to be more picky.

This doesn't apply to all women, and of course many single women want to date. A lot of single women prefer to meet men through their friendship network and generally socialising, so they can suss out what the guy is like before moving towards romance/sex.

The reasons are varied and many, and would take an entire week to explain. So how about this? Make yourself a profile on one and put up a woman's picture. Spend a few days as a member as a woman and see what happens. It's been done before and can be more revealing than that week long lecture.
