Guy on ebay wants my ID to pay me?

I sold a video game for like $40 and the guy who bought it sent me this message

"Ebay wants me to add a card to my account but I have money on it!
Can I get your ID and pay you that way?"

wtf does this mean??

I THINK he wants to send you either a check or money order. Don't allow it. If he is suggesting you send him your PayPal email address DO NOT fall for it. Chances are he will send you a fake email that says as soon as tracking info is updated your money will be released. It's a scam.

Just respond back and ask him what he means.

I dunno. Of course your paypal account wants your information, and his paypal account wants his infortmation, but that is the purpose of paypal to get the money back and forth without you having to give up your bank information to him. if he has problems with paypal he has to fix on his end.
