How to successfully market your book?

What ways either creative or conventional can you market your book? It's an ebook so online sales are all I rely on?

You cold create a kindle version to sell through Amazon.

Print on demand book services allow one to self publish a hard copy title with little overhead (no garage full of print runs).
This example also handle drop shipping to USA (overseas orders cost considerably more)

(I understand you have to pay about $200 for an ISBN# to have a physical book sold on Amazon)

There's a certain prestige in having a real book, it might be scanned in and previewed on Google Books (which may be a double edge sword)
