Having Internet Issues?
So I've built my own pc, and everything works fine... Except the internet connection. I've spent hours online searching for answers, but they're either unrelated to my problem, or simply don't seem to do anything. Most of the time I startup, My internet won't actually work. My room is too far away from my modem for a wireless connection (I started out with one) so I use a TP Link Av500 Nano Powerline Adapter. But the majority of the time I startup the Network Icon says Unidentified network. I'm not sure exactly how I fix it, sometimes I restart my modem and it works, sometimes it simply just doesn't work at all and other times restarting my computer seems to help. After using WinZip driver Updater I've Identified these drivers that need updating: Standard Dual channel PCI IDE Controller (This comes up twice), Generic PnP Monitor, and AMD SMBus. I don't know where to get the PCI driver update and uninstalling it doesn't update it. My Motherboard is an ASRock A75M HVS and that's all that I can see has to do with my internet connection. I'm pretty sure that the adapter is plugged into the mains, as is suggested (our house has been rewired so many times). I'm running windows 8. All other devices (Both wireless and wired) seem to work as well as expected (occasional disconnects). I used the ethernet cables that came with the Adapters.

Hi Donal
Windows 8 has alot of problems. As far as drivers, go to Asrocks website and download them from there. Also may have to update your bio's. I'd go to windows 7 if your able to, less problems and is a good OS. I hope this helps and goodluck! Ads |
