Has your internet ever froze up or stop responding right in the middle of you being online?

Mines will do that and I get a message on a blue screen saying something about to prevent damage to your computer, windows had to shut itself down. It causes me to have to take the battery out of my laptop and put it back it in so I can get back on the internet.

I also tried cleaning up my hard drive by deleting files, uninstalling icons that I don't use and defragment my files once a week but still I deal with my computer shutting itself down.

How do I stop it from happening ever again?
