Question about how to bid on eBay ?
So right now I'm bidding for something on eBay. Bidding started at $45. I bid $46. Someone bid $47 a day later. This bid won't finish until 6days. Is there anyway I could wait till the last few seconds to make the final on the last day without bidding anything till then? Or will I be disqualified or whatever?

You can wait until the very last second.
However, you risk not getting in on time.
You have no way of knowing what other bidders are doing.
If you have a definite limit you are willing to bid, it would be best to enter that bid anytime,as the
amounts increase in increments of $.50 or $1.00. You can wait.without making any further bid
without ever being disqualified.
It seldom happens, but PCs can crash, power can go out etc, etc.
You have to decide how much you want the item and plan your best strategy.
With 126 purchases,I have seen just about everything happen.
Good luck.

When you bid on eBay you enter in your maximum bid ie the most amount you want to pay. That amount might be (for eg) $100. eBay only uses as much of that $100 limit to make you the highest bidder. If no one else bid, it would only be $46. When another bidder comes along and enters their max bid of say $60, the bidding goes up to $61, with you still bring the high bidder. If another bidder comes along and enters $95 as their max bid, the bidding then goes up to $96 and you are still the highest bidder. If someone comes along and enters $250 as their max bid, you will be outbid and they will hold the high bid at $101. You can bid more than once of course, but you cant do bids at $1 a time to see if someone else bids more because in the closing seconds of an auction there are people who use automated bidding programs. They launch their bid in the last few seconds giving no one any time to think "maybe I need to bid higher". Obviously it doesn't matter when you bid your max bid amoutnt, early or late, either it will be more than everyone else's and you win the item or someone else went higher with their $ and they won it instead.
