The Deep Web is it really....?
i have just been on the "deep web"
expecting to find hidden files on government secrets etc
stuff on aliens, evidence of stuff etc anything cool like that..

instead i get hitmen, drugs, guns,CP,escorts, identity thefts etc...

is that all it is?

someone said to me run a different OS on a USB and boot it up
and dig deep in the hidden wiki... and you will find what your looking for

is this so? if i dig deep enough will i find stuff?

let me know because it looks interesting i can get 5g of coke shipped to my front door from 3 towns away for cheaper than street price..

but that's not what i want it for i want it to explore the hidden depths of the internet, find astonishing information etc

You'll find a lot of everything on the Deep Web but it's only really useful if you're looking for something specific. There's more data there by far than on the surface web but what would you want with internal company newsletters unless your specifically looking for them?

The deep web really only refers to data that isn't indexed. This means you don't need to use Onion routers unless you want access to the sites that require it.

If you're looking for something specific, use search operators in Google. This will allow you to access information that isn't indexed by giving a direct query. Here are some examples.

filetype:pdf
inurl:.gov
intext:classified

Also you should be aware that using a bootable OS on a flash drive will really only help you if you're using a different internet connection (not your own). The end node will still have your IP address.

All the deep web is, are webpages that are not indexed by Search Engines. For example, pages that are blocked by password requirements, and pages that use the robots.txt file.
