Is he a keeper or phoney?
There a guy (Desmond) who is hella cute, We go to the same Tech College and he's in one of my classes and he's also uber smart. The thing is his program is Mortuary Science and Funerary Services and I'm having a hard time getting over the creep factor.
We had a few kind-of dates. We paired up to go to an art museum to write about it for class and then he asked me out for burgers after class one day. Then last night he took me out to eat and to a concert.
While I'm in school I'm staying with my sis and bro-in-law. So he picks me up at the house and has flowers.
We go to a sports bar type restaurant & there's a pool table and while we're waiting for our food he "shows" me how to shoot pool by standing over me and having his hands on mine. I got to admit it was nice.
Then we got to the concert &its a pop punk band & was really loud and after an hour into it I started getting a headache. He said if I wasn't having fun then we could go so we left and we just drove around a while because he said it was too early to take me back home.
He asked if I wanted to go to his place and spend the night and I told him that it was way too early for sleepovers. He said he'd be ready when I was.
I go back home and my sister asked how it went. I replay it for her and she says that Des is a keeper. My bil thinks he's a phoney & said funeral directors are major phonies pretending to care about their clients when they are using grief to sell a bunch of stuff they don't need.

Your bil sounds like a jerk. Funeral directors are highly trained and supportive because they do care. (most of them) .When I made funeral arrangements I was never pushed into buying "stuff" I didn't need. Your Des sounds like a very nice person. Don't look at his career but look at his character. He smart, polite, a hard worker, gentleman, motivated. If he is the one for you, the creepiness of his job should ebb a bit. If it doesn't ,you don't to take part in it. You'll have your own career. Good luck. Don't let you loud mouth bil or Des's job keep you from a good thing. good luck

He doesn't sound phoney at all, he hasn't tried to change your mind or pursuade you in any way so I think bil is wrong on this one.

Sounds like he has issues with funeral directors and is a bit judgemental lol.

Work is never a medium to judge someone. He must be a very social person to choose such an occupation. Stay with him because he seems to let you be who you are. But don't ignore the things your BIL puts forward, he just wants the best for you
