Does it cost to iMessage foreign emails?

I live in America and have an American phone number, and I would like to iMessage a Canadian and Swedish EMAIL.
Will I get charged if I use my number to text their emails through iMessage?

It probably won't work if it "costs money" but it doesn't cost to iMessage anywhere.
