Why does almost any internet browser I install lag?

Right now I am using comet bird, which really don't lag at all, but every time I try to install chrome or firefox it is a lag fest, I know it's not that my computer that is bogged down or anything because everything else loads almost instantly such as photoshop, skype etc, could it be my flash plugins or something along those lines? I just kinda want to reinstall Chrome, it's just that it lags...

Because you have crappy internet service and/or you're running a wireless home network and you're to far from the access point.

Could be a number of reasons:

Cache - try clearing it to see if it helps
Extensions - Clear some of the extensions you have on chrome or firefox
Delete internet history - sometimes with having too much history can cause your internet to lag

Do you have any programs running that might possibly eat your bandwidth? like you said, skype. that can sometimes use a majority of bandwidth and that might make your browser laggy.

Believe it or not, depending on your hardware in your computer can also slow down your internet performance so if it is kinda old then this slows it too.

You could always contact your Internet Service Provider to see if they're doing any updates/changes of if your having any technical issues im sure they can help over the phone.

I've tried to think of every possibility that could affect your internet. Hope one of these will help you out.
