There are tools that can promote your website all over the place but if your website does not offer value, your visitors will quickly quit your website and uncle google will punish you seriously. I use to chase traffic like 99.9% of wanna be onlike marketers and i learned the hard way.

Provide value and answer burning questions for your customers and they will do the marketing for you, simple as that

I use slideshare.net a lot.
It is basicly a site where you upload your powerpoint-slides.
You can make a slide that sums up you blogpost. At the end you can link to your blog or website.

The pros with slideshare is that is really ranking well in google and that slideshare has nearly 60 million visitors every month so you can generate a lot of traffic here.

Just be sure to keywordoptimize your slides so that people can find you.

And remember: like in everything else,content is king.
