Where to have a personal blog? on sub-domain or sub-directory?
I have a domain which is under my name, now I want to start a blog to post entries / articles related to my knowledge and expertise. I am confused about where to set the domain for that blog either on sub-domain or on sub-directory. Please guide.

Google shifted it's handling of subdomains, treating them more like a sub-directory. Still is the blog is closely related to the site and meant to boost SEO use a sub-directory, if it's meant to be independent of the main site, use a subdirectory. After article directories were hit by the panda filter for low quality and duplicate content, some tried to use sub-directories to isolate low quality shuff that brought down the site's ranking, Google's response was to start seeing subdomains like subdirectories instead as separate sites.
