How to receive goods from amazon to here in Manila, Philippines?

I have never shopped online, but I needed a product that's only available in amazon. The problem is that when no one is home, how can I receive the product without any worries? What would happen to the product when there's no one to receive it? Would they discard, bring it back to the shipping branch, or leave it in front of the house?

if its expensive they will ask for signature or will come back later, but they will probably leave it by the door
