Is a blog right for me?

Is a blog right for me?
I am not sure if blogging is right for me for just as many reasons as I believe it just may be. I have weighed the pros and cons and would like opinions from the public, if you will.

I love to write, which is obviously a pro on this subject. My writings have mainly been poetry but I have recently explored the art of writing short stories.
I enjoy the diversity of the world, I love to research, explore and discover new knowledge of a mass area of subjects.
I know a fair amount that I would like to share with the public, after all what good is knowing something if you just keep it to yourself? I would love to share my opinions on everything from the work of Aristotle and Descartes to my personal experience with potty training a stubborn child as well as carpentry tips to make a job easier on yourself.

Now my downfall in this, is that I am extremely ADD/ADHD so consistency is an issue. I have been told that when you are a blogger consistency is key not only to keep readers interested but to keep their respect for you as a blogger.
My other short coming is that I do NOT take well to criticism or negative feedback. Although I am not what you would call a "people pleaser", I am on the other hand sensitive. (And I hope that you will respect that it took a great deal of bravery for me to say this.)

I hope I have provided enough information for you to be able to provide your input without question.

I think you should go for it. Blogging is harder then it looks though, it is hard to get people to notice your blog. I just recently started blogging, I'm still trying to find my way around it, but I enjoy it so far. However, I love writing (short stories) and would love to write more about life experiences and that sort of thing, I'm not sure how to incorporate that into my blog.
Anyways, my only advice would be to not take everything to personal, everybody it's going to have an opinion and not everyone is going to like your blog. Keep that in mind, just be polite and remember that is your blog, if someone its being offensive to you or others on your blog, delete the comment. It's your blog, you can do whatever you want Smile

There would be a lot of benefits to having a blog if you chose to go that route. For instance, a blog can be a potential money making cash crow where you can build a long term sort of business for your blog/poetry. Criticism will always be present in the world with anything we do, just as there will also be praise support for your endeavors. You must learn and adapt not to take the aforementioned personally. Actually you can try looking at any criticism as a way of learning where you can acknowledge flaws from feedback from others and improve upon those flaws to become the best you can be.

I would suggest you to start blogging. If you are not able to take critics (you should start to learn it, it is good for live) than you dont have to give to your followers any forums where they can write what they think.

I have my own blog for poetry, thoughts, etc. and I am working in IT business so if you need any advice, just write me.

What To Do If You Are Tired of Blogging?
1. Target these keywords

Target keywords that make money not traffic. To do this simply head over to your Google analytics and ask yourself one question-what percentage of my keywords are those that will make people buy my product.

If you haven’t taken this step, quickly head over to your account and do this: look at the top 20 keywords driving traffic to your site and ask yourself how many of these keywords will be typed in by your ideal prospect.

If your percentage is low, maybe it’s time to rethink your content development strategy.Or perhaps it's time you sit back and start a niche blog.

If you're scared of keyword research then read this CopyBlogger post on how to start a niche blog

Now am not advocating that all your keyword be buying keywords as non buying keywords can also help build your brand and indirectly lead to the sales you want to achieve.

2. Write Content That Answers this one Question

Writing content that answers consumer question is a great way to become highly successful. You can deploy, twitter search, Google plus or even search engine, to pull out these question. And once you’re done, write with clarity and steal your audience heart.

3. Focus on The Big Five

According to Marcus Sheridan

• Cost
• Problems/issues
• Versus/comparisons
• Reviews/awards
• “Best of” questions And reviews are five subject areas people focus on when they search aggressively online.

Though writing content that focuses on these subjects may not drive the best of engagement they will surely increase your sales.

Reasons this strategy works:

• People need answers and they will get these answers one way or the other
• It makes it easy for potential customers to fall in love with you
• Reduced spending
• Allows you to use “assignment selling”
• Provides the kind of content that Google wants to reward and that creates natural back links
• Gives you the money the money you desire

4. Don’t write for search engine

When people stumble on your site, they are looking for articles that draw them in, and engage them.
Hence, write article that is targeted at engaging your audience. Through your choice of words and by inscribing your personality you will also get repeat visitors.

This is why it’s important, you forget about acting like a robot. But instead make sure search engines understand what your article is all about.

5) Don’t worry much about the competition

Many times the failure to succeed is because of undue attention giving to your competitors.

You then strive to know their every move, instead of focusing on giving your audience the best content they deserve.

So doing this makes your content suffer, as there are just few hours in a day which you can create the awesome content that attracts and converts your audience.

Do you feel you are at that cross road- or do you feel there is an insight that can help other people?
Please share your thoughts as others would find them useful.
