Is there a way to get the old twitter back?

Is there a way to get it back?
I liked the old one better and this one doesn't tell me when there's a new tweet when I have my profile open. (As in I'll tweet or retweet something and have both twitter and my profile open and it will just show up on my profile rather than saying "1 new tweet"

I just really hate this new update, it really does look like facebook and there's a reason I use twitter and not facebook.
