I would suggest using Wordpress.org as it is very user friendly. You can YouTube "How To" videos. Thousands of them on there. Check out Theme Forest for themes.

Of course you can.

All you need to know is what your business will be about, start a marketing research, and know how to build your website.
One of the free blog (blog is what I suggest for its versatility) and one of the service I tested and works really fine if you dont wanna spend money at the beginning is wordpress.com.

If you need a help building your online business check http://flyblog.org you can find anything you need to know about.

To your Success,
Mark

Yes you can build a free website if you know how to build websites. Yes you can get a free domain name if you simply search on google, it will be a second level one, not primary.

I would strongly recommend not using a free domain name, they can be search ranking poison, the going rate is about $12/yr for a .com name.

The free domain names are often discriminated against due to the low cost and poor management of these encourage scam sites. Google recently blocked 11 million free .co.cc domains from their index.

If you have no coding experience a blogging platform may do, the industry standard wordpress platform offers free hosting at Wordpress.com, though there are paid upgrades for things like using your own domain name, There are no fees for Google's Blogger.com, to see examples of their design style, try a Google search for:
site:blogspot.com intitle:"your industryhere"

If it's a hobby or blog that you are looking to build, a free wordpress, tumblr, or weebly site doesn't hurt. But If it's a business website, I shouldn't advice you to go after the free business website.

A domain name is only $10 a year. If you want to run a business and you don't have $10 a year to invest in your business - then you are not ready to be in business ... That's what you nicely should tell him.

I will be honest. you should avoid getting for a free host because I was one of those people who didn't believe I should have to pay for a website.

Three months after launching my blogger site, it was suddenly deleted because of "spamming." I have no idea why that happened because I'd never done any link building or anything that would constitute as spam.

So i lost all my articles and hard work.

If it's a business , which means that you want to make some profit - you need a website that can represent your brand. instead of having Seattlelawfirm.wordpress.org or Seattlelawfirm.blogger.com Just buy a domain and it's $10 and you can have Seattlelawfirm.com which is more professional and easy to remember.

Just my 2 cents

All good stuff in these responses, another one for free blogger or wordpress but if its a business then maybe look at moving to your own domain name in future - some creative types can get away with wordpress.
