Unlimited data!!!!??

I got a new phone with unlimited data but what does that mean, because my friends said it means I can use the internet and stuff like snapchat without wifi but I just thought it was like the amount of stuff you can download, can somebody please help me

Your friend and you are both correct. It means you can browse the internet, download, use social media etc without any extra cost on top of your normal bill. You can pretty much use it as much as you want within the fair usage policy, which you can find out from yor service provider.
