That s... person really wants the item. You can get caught up in a price battle at the very last and then regret it if you overpay. You set it up for alerts, and when s or j up the bid, you choose to increase your bid or not. Currently, you'd need to bid $28 to be in the running for it, but don't think that will be the final bid. Read carefully about the reputation of the seller by the feedback and all the terms. I have bought an item via a battle, then, when I received it was not happy and returned it the next day with shipping at my expense. Plus, lots of phone calls and complaints. And since then, eBay has changed rules, so there is a different procedure. If you are new to eBay, best to start with something simple and not get into a battle with someone over one item. The auction isn't over until the time listed, and lots happens in the last few minutes. If you think about a person to person auction, which you might have seen on television, you will recall that the bidding goes higher and higher if two or more parties want the same item. But emotions can get the better of you. Also, with eBay, you get to set your highest price, and you will automatically bid upwards.

An auction runs until the end time. When I looked at it the listing still had 21hours and 29minutes. The high bidder at the end gets it unless there is a set reserve price, (there's not one on this listing). Many bids come at the last possible moment. If you bid $28 there is still plenty of time for someone else to enter a higher bid. Do not expect to win it for the price of only $28.

You can enter a proxy bid if you like. A proxy bid is simply bidding the highest amount you are willing to pay for the item and eBay's system will then bid in your place when others try to outbid you until that max is reached. It's possible a bidder before you has already done this and you may find you are instantly outbid if they put in more than you did.

You should be an eBay member and a PayPal member before bidding. Buying something as a guest can get tricky if something goes wrong.
