Each search engine has a submission form, you may need to sign up with Google webmaster tools. No need to apply to any but Google, Bing and Yahoo (unless you match a specialty niche search business)

Realistically, just getting a few links from indexed sites provides a path for the search spiders to discover your site. Being on the 10th page of search results will be of little value anyway, might as well start with those backlinks that will help your ranking.

First go to the xml site-map website and generate site-map to your website and place in the header of your website, then go to the google webmaster tool and submit the site-map. It is the first step.

Second tip is frequently submitting content, the fresh content attracts the google spider and if possible create a forum to interact different users from different IP. Surely your website crawls frequently.
