What is on the rest of the internet?

There's Google, who only uses 170 terabytes...and there's all those other search engines so hell maybe there's at an extreme overestimate, let's say 20,000 terabytes. This next part makes me laugh(you know, because of how incredibly beyond me this is)...there are 500 million terabytes on the internet. Did ya' chuckle? Yeah so I want to know who owns all this space, what's in it, how it's put on there, and all the other things because this is something I've been wondering about for a while now. Thanks for the info.

No one can own the internet. That's why you can download pretty much everything. Only thing people can own on the internet is a website.

Everyone owns the space, people host websites from their homes and offices. The way it works is you register your site so that is follows certain protocols and then other people are able to access it by using your url address which is translated into your ip address by DNS. All of the information is stored by the people hosting the website. So people like facebook have huge facilities with mainframes and tons of security ect.

fiber optics, satellites, mainframes, servers, wireless communications, radio waves and frequencies.

Bytes, Megabytes, Gigabytes and Terabytes have to do with the memory capacity of your computer which is situated in the circuitry of the "Motherboard".

Our computers are connected to each other via satellite and servers(the servers/mainframes are owned by the internet service providers), through radio waves and frequencies and cable wires.
