cam wow retro and retrica C: there in the app store, there really good filter cameras, i look at the instagramers, i think they use alot of filtering that i can't exsplain what they use, ive always wondered how people take such good pics to. but its mostly about lighting. alot of light makes a photo clear.

I HAD THIS QUESTION DAYS AGO! Depends on what phone you have and what quality camera it has, I have an iPhone 5 and I use VSCOcam that will get you to the filters similar to hers! Also aviary is nice. I suggest buying some 3-n-1 camera lens on eBay they do wonders for pics so fun! Best of luck!

Most "interesting" photos (especially composites or heavily-edited images) on instagram (or any other site) are not being processed on smartphones at all -- they are shot with "non-phone" cameras, edited on computers (laptops/desktops/workstations) and simply post on instagram by copying to a smartphone or running the instagram app in a virtual machine/emulator.
Trying to reproduce those edits or images on your smartphone is a losing battle. A quick look at three users I randomly picked from your list -- all three are using DSLR cameras, not phones. (Two of the three clearly show their cameras in some shots and videos, the other user mentioned her camera model in comments when someone asked what she used). If you want to know what a person is using for equipment or software, just ask them -- there's no shame in asking, and many people will be happy to strike up a conversation with you about how they shoot and process photos. |
