Does anyone have any creative low budged advertising ideas?

I need to publicize an event without spending money, and I am trying to find some clever ways to do so. Previous ideas have been spirit week, were every week people are asked to post a status or picture on Facebook of what the spirit day is, for example a line from your favorite song. This is supposed to get people to sign up for events, so if anyone has any ideas please help me out!

Sounds like you are on the right track. Look up the concept of Linkbait. You create some controversial content that people cant stop sharing so it goes viral. Somehow get your message/event included in the communication.
