disabling facebook public search feature?

I don't want my facebook page showing up if people google me. So I went to privacy settings and unchecked "enable public search" but my facebook is still showing up when I enter my name into google? why is this? does it take awhile to work? also, will this prevent my page from ever showing up if a facebook friend's name is entered into google. (basically I don't want my facebook showing up in a google search no matter what someone enters into the search engine)

It must appear for you only because you are the owner of the facebook profile,but it can't appear to anybody else.

Account ---> Privacy settings ---> Basic Directory Information ---> View settings ---> Search for me on Facebook ---> Friends only.---> Click the Preview my Profile button
