Is changing your internet IP address illegal?
I ask because I downloaded a program that will allow me to change regions or something to get a new internet IP address. I didn't do it so I could do anything illegal, I just got banned from sending messages on Tumblr (I wasn't even sending hate mail, I honestly don't know why I was banned) and I wanted to fix it. I'm worried that it's illegal. Is it like "you shouldn't download movies" illegal or "you're going to be locked up for a long time" illegal? I'm being serious. I've looked it up and most people seem to agree that it's not but I'm not sure.

If you do something illegal with it, and it becomes a case, it can be considered withholding evidence.

It iw your right to mask \ hide your IP address, nothibg illegal on that.

But tumblr has a term on their services as follow:
"(e) use the Services to send altered, deceptive, or false source-identifying information, including without limitation by forging TCP-IP packet headers or e-mail headers"

For me it's totally unfair term at least, but it's there, and when you sign up for tumblr,
you accept these terms, so they have any right to terminate your account.

You did nothing wrong, or actually the only wrong you did,was to sign up
with a company that has less concern about privacy.
