Is this buy offer on craiglist fishy?
I am new on craiglist so I am not very experiences with scam.

I am selling a tv and I got this email today:

I'm ok with the price and the description stated so I would like to
send payment asap. Please let me know if a certified/cashiers check is
ok. After the full clears of my check and my Mover will come and pick
it up at your location. I would have come and taken a look of it but
I can't. (on a business trip ). If you can get back to me with your
info. I'll mail the check out asap. ( 1)YOUR FULL NAME,(2)FULL
ADDRESS (3) PHONE # and (4)final asking price $$, will be needed to
mail the check out asap Thank you.

What do you think?

Sounds fishy to me. Typically the cashiers check will be for more than the asked for price. They will say, just give me the difference in cash. They are long gone before the bank rejects the cashiers check, and you are out the cash amount.

I agree with Matthew. I have saw this before. I would not deal with that party. The check will probably be for a lot more than the sale. Also the check will probably be no good. They claim there is a fee for the mover. they want you to send back the over amount the check was written for. Then at your bank you will be stuck with it.

100% SCAM - the check will be fake but won't bounce for 3-4 weeks, long after the scammer has your TV and has resold it for cash
Read Craigslist's scam warnings page - it's right there http://www.craigslist.org/about/scams

Craigslist is ONLY for face to face CASH transactions or you are always being scammed. There are NO exceptions

Tell him sorry but you accept cash only and if he can't meet you by Friday with cash, you have another buyer

When listing anything on Craigslist, be sure to put something like CASH ONLY, LOCAL BUYERS ONLY, NO SHIPPING, NO EXCEPTIONS and ignore everyone wanting anything else
