Why does my wordpress theme website rename updated blogs with numbers in url?

My Wordpress theme website is adding numbers to the blog link every time I try to edit it.

websitename.com/blog is the original blog link

I did something and it gave it /blog-2, then I tried to fix it, and it's .com/blog-3. I'm up to .com/blog-7 now trying to fix it.

if I go to .com/blog ...it redirects to .com/blog7

How do I make my blog link go back to .com/blog?

That is most likely happening because of the Permalink choice you are using probably the Numeric option. Choose a different option Login>Settings>Permalinks> and the numbers should disappear.

Try creating /myblog instead of /blog
It can be that wordpress see that /blog is busy and creates /blog-2 when you create another it finds that /blog and /blog-2 are busyand creates /blog-3
Try to permanently delete all /blog-2... etc
